About

I’m a freelance writer, editor, and marketing consultant based in Washington State. I’ve worked with nonprofits, artists, writers, universities, and startups, and have a special place in my heart for organizations making a positive impact for everyone. If that sounds like you, please get in touch!
How I Started
I began my marketing and sales career in 1996 as a metalsmith creating wearable art. I sold my work in galleries, created my brand and collateral, and traveled to shows throughout the Midwest. I learned firsthand the struggles of marketing art, but most importantly, I learned the value of a clear personal brand.
In 2005 I moved into inbound marketing by creating the The Anime Blog, a Japanese pop culture site, which I ran with a partner from 2005 to 2010. I branded and positioned the site and created 98% of all content. The result: The Anime Blog was the number one anime blog of its kind, receiving over 25,000 unique visits per month in 2009. Similar sites average 7,000 per month.
Where I Am Now
Today I still focus on delivering the best to my clients. I apply my years as a marketing professional in a team environment to provide in-depth, multifaceted copy and marketing. I formulate inbound marketing strategies to get folks invested and buzzing about brands and causes. I write articles and collateral, fiction and non-fiction.
Here you’ll find a few examples of the copy I’ve written that showcase my writing range (nonprofit collateral, web writing, nonprofit newsletters, magazine articles, fiction, etc.) and examples of my branding and marketing skills, including from my professional career. Peruse my resumé listing my experience in marketing nonprofits, content creation, and inbound marketing, and let me know what I can help you with.
